Now that the credentials and initials are out of the way, here’s what Kristine wants you to know about her: Due to abuse, neglect and mental illness in her birth family, she was raised in foster care and psychiatric institutions in Oregon. She was shuttled from place to place, lived on the streets, spent time debilitated by chronic depression, and had moments of wondering if she could survive. Her book, "Cray, Cray: The girl who climbed out of the cuckoo’s nest and found her way to a thriving heart" is the story of her life and is reflective of her unrelenting belief in the power of relationship and love and the existence of a path to healing for every person.

Anyone in crisis, be it mental health or otherwise, this is not the time for a Radius Retreat. Immediate care in the form of calling a doctor, therapist, other trusted health practitioners, and/or a leader in the faith community (like a pastor, rabbi, chaplain) could be good resources for someone in this acute phase of crisis.
